Written to cheer the nation in 1941, this very witty comedy by Noel Coward naturally has a starchily funny script at its' heart. Poor Charles Condomine can't get away from his wife - even when she's dead. Intending to gather "tricks of the trade" for his new novel from medium Madame Arcati, Charles gets more than he bargained for.
Enticed back from the afterlife during a seance, his former wife Elvira decides to stay and haunt Charles and his new wife, Ruth. Gloriously dotty spirit medium, Madame Arcati then fails miserably to dematerialise Elvira, and the denouement with unassuming housemaid Edith is a delight.
With some of the most spectacular special effects seen at an MPH production, the show was a great success. Outstanding debuts for director David DP and actress Leah, and a storming performance by Jane Daulman, our MPH chair.
