We are pleased to inform you that our very own Stephen Clement was awarded an Mbe on the Queens 90th birthday honours list for his services to border protection we so very proud and delighted as a playhouse to see this happen.
Here is Steve and his lovely wife Ruth on the day of the investiture. One proud playhouse! Congratulations!
Neal Morcom was welcomed as the Playhouse's new President at the AGM in February.
Neal has been an active member of the Playhouse for many years, taking on numerous acting roles and sourcing the amazing sound tracks that provide the atmosphere and set the tone for all our productions.
You can see him next in the lead role in Inspector Drake.
For four consecutive nights from the 19th of September 2018 Minster Playhouse produced and very successfully staged the wickedly funny and brilliantly written black comedy "Lame Ducks", the first play in a trilogy written by the Playhouse's own Barbara Dobson and James Coare. It played to sell out audiences who were on their feet as the curtain closed. Barbara and James have been with the Playhouse for only two years but are both talented actors of long standing acclaim. Barbara Dobson beautifully directed the two act play and James also took a leading role. Jane Daulman's sensitive performance as the downtrodden Joan was a delight and she was well supported by expertly crafted performances from Ruth Clement and Annette Paul as Ruth and Anita. The cast included old favourites Marcus Hogben, Steve Clement, Nick Voss, Terry Wood and Dominique Vaughan, and new faces Fiona Pearce and Perry Pullman.
