Neal Morcom was welcomed as the Playhouse's new President at the AGM in February.
Neal has been an active member of the Playhouse for many years, taking on numerous acting roles and sourcing the amazing sound tracks that provide the atmosphere and set the tone for all our productions.

Last year the Playhouse invested in new lighting equipment using LED technology and DMX control. This system has revolutionised our lighting capabilities giving strong, rich colours or subtle shades as required.
Having used David Fitch Services for other equipment in the past, and having always had excellent service and freely-given assistance from David, it was he that I approached about the purchase of our new lighting.
We used it with great success at last Christmas’ pantomime, and the set up was so successful that I used it again for our May play this year. On this occasion I ran into a problem and telephoned David on his private number on the Sunday of the technical rehearsal. He came back to me that afternoon with some advice on a possible fix.
The problem was clearly one of operator error in programming the lighting units as I was following the instruction leaflet supplies with the lights themselves. On the day of dress rehearsal I called him at lunchtime to say that the problem was unresolved. He was just about to deliver a shipment to Woolwich, and said that he would return and come straight down to Minster and be there by six.
At six he arrived and analysed the problem which came down to the omission of a single important word in the programming, we set the lights up and all was well for the dress rehearsal at 7.30, and for the run of the show.
I would like to express my gratitude to David for his help, always given freely and kindly, and his service which is, as you can see, second to none, and to say how glad I am that the Playhouse bought from him rather than some anonymous internet site.
