When Rick loses his job, his wife and many things important to him, in a space of a few months, in an attempt to regain his self-esteem, and despite being 40 something, he heads of for university to study History. There he makes a new friend, who is also a bad influence, Neal, and together they experience student life together – including blagging the local Balti house into thinking they are rich and famous so they do not have to pay.

Together they learn more than either could have imagined possible, about life, about women and about themselves, but not too much about History
