Minster Playhouse has recently become involved in Youth Theatre. 20 local children aged 5 to 15 attended a week long Dance, Drama, Music and Stage workshop in August 2011. Run by experienced performers and stage crew from Minster and local groups, the children were guided through the week long workshop held at the EKSS venue in the grounds of the Marlowe Academy.

Having spent a fun packed week singing, dancing, acting, playing musical instruments and making costumes, programs and the set, the children and young people delivered a wonderfully entertaining variety show to their delighted family and friends. The show, based on animals, included pieces from "The Hungry Caterpillar", "Ugly Bug Ball", "The Lion King", and even a 15 minute Cinderella panto, written by the children themselves.

The cost for the week was just £65 per child, including lunch and refreshments.
Feedback from the parents and children was outstanding, with every child wanting to join the next workshop.
